We Want Change - Rock out

I want to gather together in Union Square by the Steps and Rock Out to the Song "We Want Change - Yes We Can" created and inspired by the New Hampshire speech. That Song makes people THINK! It makes them really think. The message really gets THRU. All we gotta do is Rock Out to it- because we mean every word of it. Except, I don't play the guitar-only sing. I need a guitar player. And people who also want to do this. NYU students for Obama? Wanna? THIS EVENT IS NOT GOING ON UNTIL I HEAR FROM A GUITAR PLAYER. THERE IS NO OFFICIAL DATE UNTIL I DO - All of you who signed up, please take note. I REALLY want to do it, but I'll have to reserve a guitar player before I post a revised date. The "12/12/'12 date is BOGUS. They require me to put in a time. I project it will be at noon and last for about an hour. After that, I'm sure we can get something hot to drink together(Cause we'll need it!) or, just go our separate ways. Sara

Year of the Hero

In the school I teach in (Clinton Elementary School), we want to encourage our students to take more interest in the world they live in by becoming heroes. We are kicking off a "Year of the Hero" campaign by inviting dignitaries and people with purpose to our school to discuss their heroes and what drives them to be involved citizens. The Clinton School community would be honored Sen. Obama would consider being one of our "Heroes" and discuss his national and global involvement. We would like every speaker to offer suggestions as to where the students could concentrate efforts to help others. This would then make the students heroes as well. While Clinton Elementary School (K-5th) is a culturally diverse school, it is also in an economically disadvantaged town. Crime, drugs and apathy are pretty much standard fare for the town and it is difficult to show our students other alternatives to the street. We would like people that matter to show an interest in the students and offer ideas that will open their minds to the possibilities of the world and not just the realities of the street.

OBAMA supporters, will you pledge to stay involved AFTER January 20, 2009? This involvement can take several forms: 1) Participate in local council meetings. 2) Stay in touch with Representatives and Senators about issues that are important to you. 3) Talk with neighbors about what they can do to have an impact in the community. 4) Set up a website with information about an issue that concerns you along with links to contact elected officials. 5) And for some, ask yourself if you are willing to serve in elected office. Perhaps there is one issue that you could learn more about. Take the time to find out what others think about the issue. What are the different sides to the issue? Which committee in Congress deals with that particular issue? Are there any bills before the House or Senate regarding the issue? http://thomas.loc.gov/ How will you support Barack Obama throughout his Presidency? We have the ability to bring about real change in Washington. United, we can achieve it. Take the time to tell Barack Obama what issue you care about: http://my.barackobama.com/page/s/mypolicy
